If you crave seclusion and love the great outdoors, as well as a little intrigue, you will
love The Doll House. Within hiking distance of the brick cottage, there are enormous
rocks suspended in the branches of two trees. Guests to The Doll House speculate about how
rocks came to be cradled in the sycamore branches 60 feet overhead,
but nobody really knows. Or maybe whoever knows just isn’t telling.
The Doll House property adjoins Yellowwood State Forest, and the house sits on a secluded corner of the 50 acre tract. “Cozydale,” as it was called by previous owners, features a network of hiking trails. If it’s fishing you want, you are welcome to try your luck in the shared pond. Catch and release only, please. Built in the 1950’s, The Doll House is now modernized and comfortable, but retains its old Brown County feel. The roomy bedroom adjoins the large living/dining room, with a gas fireplace. The kitchen and bathroom are updated. When the two of you relax under the stars in the hot tub off of the screened porch, you'll feel like you are the only people in the world. |
