Are you looking for a romantic getaway for two? Or maybe you’re looking for the backdrop
for a Brown County history lesson for the kids. In either case, The Book is the perfect place for you.
The Book is one of few Brown County log cabins that has remained on its original site for over 120 years, and is available to overnight guests. Reportedly used as a writing retreat by Hoosier author Booth Tarkington, The Book retains all its original charm, although it has been updated for comfort and safety.
Ladder-like stairs originally provided access to the roomy loft bedroom. When guests to The Book reported the ascent was too steep, easy-to-climb stairs were added. The kitchen and bathroom add to the rustic charm The Book is known for.
